In brief

L’École Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires of Nancy enrolls 170 Agronomy Engineers and Food Science Engineers each year, placing it second in all the French “Grandes Ecoles” in this sector. In 3 years, these future engineering graduates are qualified to fulfill high level technical and economic functions in Agronomy and Agro-Industries, Food Industries and Biotechnology, in Environment, and all other related activities. In parallel, ENSAIA offers Master programs which are also open to engineering students in their third, and final, year. Doctoral studies are available at the Doctoral school “Resources, Processes, Products, Environment".

The programs at ENSAIA are taught by 70 teacher-researchers who work closely with research laboratoires housed within the school. These certified laboratories guarantee a high-level scientific environment, reinforced by numerous, often unprecedented, resources. There are currently 8 start-up domiciled at school which are the result of this commitment to progress.

Relations with companies are quite naturally an integral part of our programs. Work placements comprise nearly one third of the curriculum. From the beginning, students are involved in professional projects that answer to the expressed needs of our external partners. More than 200 professionals and lecturers participate in the teaching program. The fact that 95% of our graduates are employed is proof that ENSAIA responds to the current market.

These positive results are also due to the school’s drive to favor and encourage entrepreneurialism, taking initiative and an international orientation. Some of the examples that illustrate our students’ self-reliance and creativity are our programs based on independent projects, ADN, a student company, Ecotrophélia, student trophies for food innovation, gap year, the possibility to study abroad for one semester or for a full year, clubs and associations, BDE (an active student union). It is not by pure chance that the well-known 24 hours of Stan started in 1966, is the work of ENSAIA students. Today, this chariot race brings together nearly 50,000 people in Nancy for just one weekend.

An historic school, beginning with the fusion of 3 traditional schools in Nancy (brewery, dairy and agronomy), today, ENSAIA is one of the 10 engineering schools in the Lorraine INP Collegium of the University of Lorraine.
