The general scientific objective of Reaction and Process Engineering Laboratory is the study of processes taken in their totality and their complexity. In the unit, the Bioprocess-Biomolecule team’s research activities fall under Bioprocess Engineering as applied to the fields of health, food and the environment. This research primarily deals with:
- An integral approach, which includes: scalable biocatalytic processes, the reaction medium (often very complex), the technologies and operating procedures specific to bioreactor-separators, productivity performance and the properties of the biomolecules produced.
- A multi-scale approach: molecular and intracellular scale, of the catalyst and the process.
Areas of research:
- Cell factory approach
- Cell - environment interactions
- Modelling, control and optimization
- Production processes of new biomolecules
- Clean bioprocesses
The team is composed of 14 teacher-researchers researchers, 5 technicians, 15 doctorate and post-doctorate researchers
