DU Implementation of a Biogas Plant

The need for energy transition has led public authorities to favor the emergence of renewable energies adapted to the context of our regions. Methanization is one of the oldest processes for producing renewable energy which revitalized Germany in the 1990’s where they currently produce more than 6 million tons of the equivalent in petrol of methane compared to 40,000 tons in petrol in France. By 2020, in relation with the potential of organic waste generated by the food processing sector, a new national government strategy aims at increasing the French capacity in agricultural methane production by tenfold. In the Lorraine, one of the principal French regions in terms of agricultural production, more than 40 projects have been put into place or are in the process. In this context, the university degree “Implementation of a Biogas Plant” aims at offering a program adapted to the players in this sector, responding to the needs to update and acquire the applicable skills in professional situations.
