ENSAIA at a glance

Presentation

Located in Nancy Metropole, one of the most popular student cities in France, ENSAIA (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Agronomie et des Industries Alimentaires), is a post-graduate school of Agronomy, Environment, Food Sciences and Bio-technologies. ENSAIA is a component of the Université de Lorraine - 2nd university in France - and INP Engineering College.

Each academic year, ENSAIA enrolls 550 students and 170 engineers are awarded, placing it second in the French "grandes Ecoles" rank in this sector. ENSAIA proposes 3 degrees accredited by CTI (national accreditation comity for engineering schools) with 3 specialities:

- Agronomy
- Food Industry
- Food production (apprenticeship)

At the same time, ENSAIA also offers Master and Doctorate programmes, which are recognized by the European System.
The programmes at ENSAIA are taught by 70 Teachers-Researchers who work closely with the 5 research laboratories housed within the school. Moreover, there are currently 9 start-up hosted at school. These guarantee a high-level scientific environment.

Structure of the ENSAIA engineering programme

A 3 years programme (semesters S5-S10) for 2 sectors, Agronomy & Environment (Agro) or Food Industry (IA):

- S5: Core Curriculum (Tronc Commun)
- S6-S7-S8: Initial programme in the chosen sector (Agro or IA)
At the end of semester S8, students will have to choose an option (pre-specialization) which carry on into semesters S9-S10.
Semester 8 is followed by a 13 weeks pratical training abroad.
- S9-S10: Year of specialization:
Semester 9: academic programme specialize in a selected domain
Semester S10: 5 to 6 months work placement in a company
